UroToday is pleased to inaugurate their second of three comprehensive collaborations on the use of urinary catheters. The latest area, launching this week, is about intermittent catheterization (IC). This content-rich, web-based resource provides up-to-date, detailed, and accurate information on all facets of IC usage -- from information on types and designs, to complications, to infection-prevention strategies.
This website is unique as it not only provides, for both professionals and patients, the nuts and bolts of intermittent catheterization, it also provides the current evidence-based research to guide best practices for IC use.” - D. Newman, DNP, ANP-BC |
Earlier in 2013, UroToday launched the first in a planned series of educational resource centers focused exclusively on indwelling urinary (Foley) catheters. “Since launching the indwelling catheter center, UroToday continues to provide not only the evidence-based research on the use of these devices, but updates practice issues for clinical use,” Newman further explained.
These first two centers are the cornerstones for what is the definitive, comprehensive, online resource devoted to all catheter types -- indwelling, intermittent, and external urinary catheters. In addition to specific clinical applications for each catheter type, nurses and other health care professionals can apprise themselves of upcoming, topical, urologic conferences and symposia -- as well as stay on top of the latest breaking developments presented at those meetings.
