The study participants were given an oral hydration protocol (3 Fill). They drank 2 liters of Gatorade G2 during fill 1 and water during fills 2 and 3. A tablet-based meter was used to measure bladder sensation from 0-100%. At 50% sensation, a 3-minute video was watched showing different scenes with water.
The change in sensation was calculated and the results are in the table below.
Kaitlyn concludes that there is a correlation between running water with trigger survey.
A non-invasive hydration protocol can help in identifying environmental triggers, but more research is needed.
There was a suggestion from the audience to have patients bring images of own bathroom. Previous research has been done with the patient's own bathroom photo and looking at fMRI had higher activation patterns of bladder fullness.
