The utility of 11C-choline PET/CT for imaging prostate cancer: A pictorial guide - Abstract

Department of Radiology, Division of Nuclear Medicine, Mayo Clinic, 200 First St SW, Rochester, MN 55905.

The objective of this article is to provide an illustrative tutorial showing the utility of (11)C-choline PET/CT for imaging prostate cancer.

Carbon-11-labeled choline PET/CT is a powerful adjunct to the currently available imaging modalities for evaluating prostate cancer. As with any diagnostic method, false-positives and false-negatives occur. However, these diagnostic errors can be reduced if readers are familiar with the normal and abnormal patterns of (11)C-choline distribution in the body.
