Prostate cancer in African American men: Making awareness a priority, a community-based effort

BERKELEY, CA (UroToday.com) - UroToday recognizes a new prostate cancer resource for patients: My Prostate Cancer Roadmap ( www.myprostatecancerroadmap.com ), a relatively new website for men with advanced prostate cancer, providing resources so that they can be in the driver’s seat when better informed.

Earlier in the year, three Making Awareness a Priority (MAP) events took place in Atlanta, New York, and Chicago focusing on an at-risk group of men, African Americans. UroToday reporter Karen Roberts asked the speakers at the MAP events to share their perspective about what other communities can learn from the MAP experience.
