Magnetic resonance imaging facilitate appropriate treatment selection of prostate cancer patients - Abstract

Recent scientific work supports the rapidly growing use of multiparametric magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) as the most sensitive and specific imaging tool for detection, staging and treatment planning of prostate cancer.

Its use can improve many aspects of prostate cancer management. By increasing the detection rate of clinically significant tumours with less biopsy-cores and improving the evaluation of tumours, localization, volume, extendt and biological aggressiveness multiparametric MRI facilitate appropriate treatment selection of prostate cancer patients.
