Bauhinia purprea agglutinin (BPA) is a well-known lectin that recognizes galactosyl glycoproteins and glycolipids. In the present study, we firstly found that BPA bound to human prostate cancer specimens but not to normal prostate ones.
Prostate cancer is the most common non-skin cancer among men. Though statins are mainly used as antihyperlipidemic drugs, many studies have reported their proapoptotic and antimetastatic activities on prostate cancer.
The diagnosis of incidental small renal masses (SRM) has increased during the past two decades secondary to the increased use of various abdominal imaging modalities. In the past decade there has been a shift from radical nephrectomy to nephron sparing surgery techniques where partial nephrectomy has become the standard of care.
To develop a treatment protocol for (225)Ac-PSMA-617 alpha-radiation therapy in advanced stage, metastatic castration-resistant prostate cancer patients with PSMA-positive tumor phenotype. Methods: A dosimetry estimate was calculated based on time-activity-curves derived from serially performed (177)Lu-PSMA-617 scans extrapolated to the physical half-life of (225)Ac, assuming instant decay of instable daughter nuclides.
Aggressive variant prostate cancer (AVPC) is characterized by a molecular signature involving combined defects in TP53, RB1, and/or PTEN (AVPC-TSGs), identifiable through immunohistochemistry or genomic analysis.
