Testicular cancer constitutes 1.0% of male cancer and typically carries a good prognosis. As far as we are aware, the role for hydrogen sulfide in testicular cancer and the level of hydrogen sulfide-synthesizing enzyme have never been addressed.

The accurate identification of different components in testicular germ cell tumors (GCT) is essential for tailoring treatment and informing the clinical prognosis. PRAME (preferentially expressed antigen in melanoma), a member in the family of cancer testis antigens, plays critical roles in regulating pluripotency and suppressing somatic/germ cell differentiation in seminomas (SEM).

Bilateral synchronous testicular tumors are a relatively uncommon occurrence, especially when they involve germ cell tumors of different histology. In this context, we present a compelling case report of a male patient who was diagnosed with bilateral synchronous germ cell testicular tumors, with one being a seminoma and the other a non-seminomatous germ cell tumor (NSGCT).

BACKGROUND - Intratumoral heterogeneity presents a major obstacle to the widespread implementation of precision medicine. The authors assessed the origin of intratumoral heterogeneity in nonseminomatous germ cell tumor of the testis (NSGCT) and identified distinct tumor subtypes and a potentially lethal phenotype.

PURPOSE - To present the clinical and histological features of prepubertal testicular tumors (PTTs), the long-term experience of a single institution was reviewed.

MATERIALS AND METHODS - A total of 62 prepubertal children who were treated for testicular tumors at Kanagawa Children's Medical Center from 1971 to 2014 were retrospectively reviewed.

The accurate classification and proper identification of testicular germ cell tumors is imperative for treatment selection and clinical prognosis. Although such distinction can often be achieved by microscopic morphology alone, ancillary tests may at times be needed.
