Erectile Dysfunction

Corpus cavernosum and tunica albuginea reconstruction by tissue engineering: towards functional erectile structures regeneration.

Current treatments for penile erectile structures reconstruction are limited and remain a great challenge in clinical practice. Tissue engineering techniques using different seed cells and scaffolds to construct a neo-tissue open promising avenues for penile erectile structures repair and replacement and show great promise in the restoration of: structure, mechanical property, and function which matches the original tissue.

Perioperative therapies and techniques to enhance penile dimensional and functional outcomes following inflatable penile prosthesis implantation: a contemporary 10-year systematic review.

Implantation of inflatable penile prosthesis should be considered as a definitive treatment of erectile dysfunction. However, the sole procedure might not allow for optimal dimensional and functional outcomes.

Comparing the efficacy of tadalafil and tamsulosin for managing erectile dysfunction and lower urinary tract symptoms in prostate brachytherapy patients: a prospective study.

Adverse events, such as erectile dysfunction (ED) and lower urinary tract symptoms (LUTS), are significant concerns in prostate cancer (PCa) patients treated with Iodine 125 (I-125) low-dose rate (LDR) prostate brachytherapy (PB).

Artificial Intelligence-Based Clinical Decision-Making in Erectile Dysfunction: a Narrative Review.

Artificial Intelligence (AI) has great potential in erectile dysfunction (ED) diagnosis and treatment. This review aims to summarize AI-based clinical decision-making in ED.

Based on the literature search, forty-seven articles related to AI and ED were analyzed and their findings were summarized.

Association between composite dietary antioxidant index and erectile dysfunction: a cross-sectional study from NHANES.

Individual antioxidants may not fully capture the comprehensive antioxidant intake from an individual's diet. This study utilizes the Complex Dietary Antioxidant Index (CDAI) to evaluate the combined effects of various dietary antioxidants in the diet.

Reassessing cardiovascular risk stratification in men with erectile dysfunction.

Erectile dysfunction (ED) is an independent and strong marker of cardiovascular disease (CVD) risk. The Princeton Consensus aimed to evaluate and manage cardiovascular risk in men with ED and no known cardiovascular disease, focusing on identifying those requiring additional cardiologic work-up.

Regenerative Therapies for Erectile Dysfunction: A Systematic Review, Bayesian Network Meta-Analysis, and Meta-Regression - Beyond the Abstract

This systematic review and Bayesian network meta-analysis compares three emerging regenerative therapies—stem cell therapy (SCT), platelet-rich plasma (PRP), and low-intensity shockwave therapy (LiSWT)—for the treatment of erectile dysfunction (ED). Our findings showed that LiSWT and PRP therapies demonstrate statistically significant improvements in erectile function compared to controls. Among them, LiSWT appears particularly effective at specific energy densities, with dose-response effects observed. While these results are promising, the differences in control groups, follow-up durations, and variations in outcome measures across studies may impact the robustness of these findings, indicating a need for further research to clarify the long-term clinical relevance of these treatments.

A novel algorithm-based risk classification for vascular damage in men with erectile dysfunction.

Penile dynamic color doppler duplex ultrasound (CDDU) is a relevant tool in assessing men with suspected vasculogenic erectile dysfunction (V-ED).

To investigate (1) factors potentially associated with V-ED to define risk classes useful in predicting V-ED; (2) the response to phosphodiesterase type 5 inhibitors (PDE5i); and (3) the onset of incident major cardiovascular (CV) events.

Exploring the association between consumption of different types of beverages and erectile dysfunction in US men: evidence from NHANES 2003-2004 data.

The aim of this study was to examine the relationship between the type/frequency of consuming beverages and ED among men in America.

We used data on erectile function and the frequency of beverage consumption from the National Health and Nutrition Examination Survey (NHANES) 2003-2004.

Patient satisfaction study for the new Rigicon Infla10 inflatable penile prosthesis including single surgeon safety and outcomes data.

Rigicon is a newer inflatable penile prostheses (IPP) manufacturer that has produced the Infla10 IPP for countries outside the United States (US) since 2019, with Food and Drug Administration studies for approval of Infla10 in the US presently underway.

Prevalence, risk factors, and severity of erectile dysfunction following renal transplantation.

Sexual dysfunction is common among dialysis and transplant patients. Our study evaluated the prevalence, risk factors, and severity of erectile dysfunction (ED) post-transplant in a single center.

We conducted a single-centre, observational, non-interventional study of adult male renal graft recipients.

Venous Leak Embolization Results in Clinical Improvement of Patients with Mixed Arterio-Venous Erectile Dysfunction Not Responding to Arterial Revascularization Alone.

To analyze the safety and efficacy of additional venous leak embolization after an initial arterial revascularization to treat patients with combined arteriogenic and venogenic erectile dysfunction (ED).

Therapeutic management of erectile dysfunction: the AFU/SFMS guidelines.

Erectile dysfunction (ED) is a common sexual disorder. In France, recent evidence-based guidelines are lacking.

To provide practice guidelines on ED therapeutic management.

Publications indexed in PubMed/Medline® between January 1999 and October 2023, were reviewed.

Cancers and erectile dysfunction: a Mendelian randomization study.

Cancer often coexists with erectile dysfunction, yet the causal relationship between them remains unclear. This study aims to investigate the causal link between tumors and ED through Mendelian randomization.

An overview on pharmaceutical applications of phosphodiesterase enzyme 5 (PDE5) inhibitors.

Phosphodiesterase enzyme 5 (PDE5) inhibitors have emerged as one of the leading molecules for the treatment of erectile dysfunction (ED). PDE5 inhibitors are categorized structurally into several classes.

Androgen Society Position Paper on Cardiovascular Risk With Testosterone Therapy.

The Androgen Society is an international, multidisciplinary medical organization committed to advancing research and education in the field of testosterone deficiency and testosterone therapy (TTh).

Artificial Intelligence as a Tool for Creating Patient Visit Summary: A Scoping Review and Guide to Implementation in an Erectile Dysfunction Clinic.

In modern healthcare, the integration of artificial intelligence (AI) has revolutionized clinical practices, particularly in data management and patient visit summary creation. Manual creation of patient summary is repetitive, time-consuming, prone to errors, and increases clinicians' workload.

Association of relative fat mass with prevalence of erectile dysfunction in US men: an analysis of NHANES 2001-2004.

The high prevalence of erectile dysfunction (ED) underscores the critical importance of interventions and preventive measures targeting potential risk factors, among which obesity stands out. Relative fat mass (RFM) emerges as a superior indicator for quantifying body fat compared to traditional metrics like body mass index (BMI) or waist circumference (WC).
