Sleep Hygiene and Nocturia - Jeffrey Weiss

Jeffrey Weiss discusses the importance of sleep hygiene with Diane Newman and the relationship between disordered sleep and nocturia.  They highlight the standard number of hours of sleep a night for quality of life as well as the relationship of sleep cycles and nocturia. Jeffrey fields Diane's questions on dietary irritants that can lead to impaired sleeping, the importance of voiding diaries and tips to have patients complete them.

Jeffrey P. Weiss, MD, FACS is a urologist in Brooklyn, New York and is affiliated with multiple hospitals in the area, including Long Island Jewish Medical Center and NYC Health and Hospitals/Kings County. He is Professor and Chairman at SUNY Downstate Medical Center; Department of Urology, Staff Urologist, Veterans Affairs NY Harbor Healthcare; Department of Urology. He received his medical degree from University of Pittsburgh School of Medicine and has been in practice for more than 20 years. He is one of 68 doctors at Long Island Jewish Medical Center and one of 5 at NYC Health and Hospitals/Kings County who specialize in Urology.

Diane K. Newman, DNP, FAAN, BCB-PMD, is Research Investigator Senior and Adjunct Associate Professor of Urology in Surgery, Perelman School of Medicine, University of Pennsylvania. She is Co-Director of the Penn Center for Continence and Pelvic Health, Division of Urology, University of Pennsylvania Medical Center, in Philadelphia.
